Odoo 19.4: Major Updates in Accounting, AI, Sales & Operations

Everyday Odoo Work Gets a Cleanup

• Activities have been refined across scheduling, management and tracking. A new activity can be assigned either to a specific person or to a role, which is useful when responsibility belongs to a function rather than one employee.

• Email gets a practical improvement too. Users can add CC recipients when sending messages from Odoo, and the chatter records who was copied.

• Attachments can now be downloaded in bulk through the Technical menu even when they belong to different apps, models or records.

• Favorite searches in list views retain visible columns.

• Product, manufacturing and packaging labels have been redesigned.

• Odoo website links shared on social platforms can generate preview cards, while portal cards can be rearranged.

• Partner records can hold multiple validated identifiers, including DUNS numbers and country-specific IDs.

• Relative date searches now show a tooltip explaining the actual date range being used.

• The rich-text media toolbar has been simplified.

• Units of measure or packaging can be selected when adding products through a catalogue, and multilingual data can be imported into translatable fields through Excel or CSV files.

• Access-right management has also been simplified. Domains can now be applied directly at the access-right level to define which records the permission covers.

• Tablet users get bottom-sheet interfaces in touch mode, while sales orders, purchase orders and invoices can switch between tax-included and tax-excluded prices, with individual taxes able to override that behaviour where necessary.

Industry Packages Get More Specific

• Beauty parlours have an industry package covering customers, appointments, treatment follow-up and invoicing.

• Construction developers can create progress reports before invoicing, giving teams a formal way to validate completed work.

• A new custom industrial equipment package covers engineering-to-order operations, including design, prototyping, manufacturing, procurement, on-site installation, maintenance and technical support.

• There is also a useful development for Property Management companies. Odoo's Property Owner Association industry can now operate in the same database as the Property Management industry, and the reverse is also supported. For UAE real estate management businesses handling properties alongside owners' associations, keeping both processes in one database is a small sentence in the release notes but a meaningful operational change. This capability has been available from version 19.3.

• Public institutions also receive a dedicated package covering citizen support, appointments, citizen portals, facility rentals and community events.

Accounting Gets Smarter About the Work Finance Teams Actually Do

• Annual reports can now follow the company's own document layout instead of looking detached from other corporate documents.

• Bill entry becomes more assisted. When a bill is entered manually or imported, Odoo can predict line information from historical bills and the line label. Product, account, tax, analytic distribution and vehicle information can be pre-filled according to the closest matches, while values a user has already entered remain untouched.

• Invoice attachments can be downloaded as a ZIP file directly from the invoice list, including generated PDFs, XML files and other attachments.

• Duplicate detection has been refined into two levels before posting. Strong duplicate matches are highlighted in red, while possible matches are shown in yellow for review. After posting, only the stronger red duplicate indication remains.

• Documents stored in the Documents app can also be attached more easily when invoices are emailed.

• For outgoing payments, the PAIN version setting has moved from journal level to payment-method level, giving finance teams more flexibility.

• Purchase receipts gain the Professional percentage column already available on vendor bills. Matching between vendor bills and purchase orders is clearer too.

• Auto-Complete checks existing bill lines before adding new ones. Odoo shows what has been matched, flags differences in expected quantities or prices and lets users unlink a purchase order from a vendor bill when required.

• Automatic bank reconciliation can now be manually triggered again through a Run Auto Reconciliation option.

• Another useful accounting change sits inside invoice journal items. Users can select one or several lines and split them, helping when quantities need separating for asset creation or when an amount needs to be distributed across different accounts.

• Withholding-tax bills now show Amount Due, Withhold Due and Net Due separately. The payment wizard then lets the user process the withholding portion, the payment portion or the complete amount.

UAE Payroll Gets Two Relevant Additions

• Businesses can now use a calendar-day working schedule for payroll and leave calculations. That matters in cases where entitlements or deductions are based on calendar days rather than only scheduled working days.

• Odoo also adds an End-of-Service Benefit report capable of calculating the total EOS liability for one employee or several employees at a chosen point in time.

Country Localizations Continue to Expand

• Argentina gains clearer pre-printed accounting-document handling and manual vendor Remito numbers on receipts.

• Belgium gets CP302 year-end bonus payroll calculations.

• Brazil adds more control over Avalara CST classifications, support for alphanumeric CNPJ numbers and the cClassTrib electronic-invoice field.

• Chile adds compliant delivery-guide copies, while Colombia supports invoice XML containing global discounts and loyalty-related negative lines as well as official ZIP imports for vendor bills.

• Ecuador's chart of accounts has been cleaned up and its invoice PDF customer and address display has been improved.  

• Egypt receives updated VAT and withholding reports, Deducted and Gross Withholding flows, a revised six-digit chart of accounts, updated ETA unit codes and improved address synchronisation, together with calendar-day payroll scheduling.

• France gets a refined VAT-submission screen, and Georgia adds ISO 3166-2 state names and codes.

• Hong Kong updates its chart of accounts, P&L and balance-sheet reporting for HKFRS Private Entities and expands payroll reporting with IR56M, support for non-employee salary structures, additional mailing addresses, 468 Rule notifications and automatic mapping of customised salary rules to IRD reports.

• Hungary gains an A60 statement and direct NAV API synchronisation of vendor bills.

• Indonesia updates partner identification fields and adds PPN Dipungut tax support alongside payroll-account and overtime-rule changes.

• Jordan supports Transit, Foreign Trade and Free Zone Transfer invoice types.

• Kuwait receives a base payroll localization covering standard pay, social insurance, end-of-service calculations, provisions and leave.

• Malaysia expands MyInvois support across branches and improves sole-proprietor handling.

• Oman receives payroll localization covering pay, social insurance, EOS, leave, overtime and employer net cost, together with WPS-file generation.

• Pakistan updates its account hierarchy, financial statement generation and tax setup while preparing reporting structures for FBR Form-7.

• Peru can generate GRE documents for warehouse transfers and electronic vendor-withholding files.

• The Philippines adds BIR 2306 and 2307 withholding certificates, an Entity Type field, disbursement vouchers and a broader payroll package including Form 1601-C and annual Form 2316 reporting.

• Romania can generate D300 VAT XML and can return an SPV-rejected invoice to draft for correction and resubmission.

• Saudi Arabia receives an extensive set of accounting refinements covering tax grids, partner identification schemes, Tax and Simplified invoice types, transaction types, supply end dates, UBL tax exemption reasons and ZATCA address validation. Payroll adds updated end-of-service provision handling, an EOS liability report and calendar-day working schedules.

• Singapore receives tax invoice, credit note, and customer-accounting PDFs aligned with IRAS GST requirements.   

• Sri Lanka's VAT report has been reformatted for clearer presentation.

• Thailand adds the official 50 Tawi withholding certificate, revised PND 3 and PND 53 exports, clearer tax-grid naming and a Withholding Tax Summary Report.

• Türkiye gets refinements around Nilvera e-invoicing and e-dispatch, commercial invoice approval flows, multi-ID partner identifiers, incoming e-Dispatch receipts, public-sector tax IDs and broader availability of tax-office information, alongside the 1003B payroll declaration.

• The United States receives usability improvements around Avalara Included and expanded standard leave types.

• Uruguay can retrieve official DGI taxpayer information through a partner's identification number.

• Uzbekistan's currency symbol is updated to the Central Bank's “so'm” notation.

• Vietnam can export the 01/GTGT report and Appendix 142 as XML while using clearer tax-tag naming.

Odoo Pushes AI Further Into the Product

• A business can select an AI provider and let Odoo choose the model it considers most appropriate for a particular task.

• Odoo databases can also connect through MCP, or Model Context Protocol, creating a route for compatible external tools to interact with the database.

• AI agents in Live Chat can display supported Odoo records as richer clickable preview cards rather than plain record names.

• Agent conversations remain stored for up to 30 days after the last message.

• What Odoo previously called AI “Topics” are now called “Skills”: collections of tools and instructions that determine how an AI agent behaves in a particular context.

• Users can also speak requests directly to an AI agent through voice interaction.

Appointments Become Easier to Book and Manage

• Appointment pages have been refreshed on desktop and mobile.

• Closed days are easier to administer, and bookings involving several attendees now default to a party size of two.

• Resource and date-availability calculations have also been optimised to improve performance throughout the booking process.

• Businesses are no longer limited to the standard appointment-page structure either.

• Website editor blocks can be placed throughout Appointment pages, allowing the booking experience to carry more useful business information.

HR Updates Reach Appraisals, Attendance and Employee Records

• New employee appraisals can automatically use the appraisal template associated with the employee's department. Where there is no department-specific template, Odoo falls back to the first template that is not linked to a department.

• Flexible employees without fixed working hours can have a defined automatic checkout time.

• A new overtime analysis report explains the rules applied to recorded overtime, while a smart button helps connect employees to overtime rulesets.

• Businesses using check-in devices with cameras can also capture an employee photo during check-in.

• In multi-company installations, users can see employees belonging to all companies in the database.

• Working schedules can also be configured through calendar view to represent variable working periods more precisely.

Barcode and Inventory Teams Get More Operational Control

• In Barcode, warehouse teams can decide if a backorder should be created.

• Buttons stay in fixed positions even when quantities change, which sounds minor until someone is scanning dozens of lines on a warehouse floor.

• During an inventory count, users can select the edit control and enter the complete counted quantity manually.

• The allocation process has been redesigned, including the ability to allocate stock directly from the forecast report.

• Businesses involved in road freight can download a CMR document from a delivery, pre-filled with information from the transfer.

• The stock report now contains a date picker for reviewing inventory at an earlier date, including a precise timestamp while preserving selected filters.

• Users can subscribe to transfer-status notifications, preview Barcode instructions from an operation type and manage packaging barcodes more easily from product records.

• A stock-aging report is accessible through the Moves Analysis pivot view.

• HS codes can now be set at product-variant level rather than only broadly at product level, useful where closely related variants have different customs classifications.

• Incoming receipt transfers can also show the vendor's purchase reference, giving warehouse staff another traceability clue without forcing them to open the purchase order first.

Manufacturing Gets Better Visibility Between Operations

• Odoo 19.4 lets manufacturers compare bills of materials according to the quantities of components used.

• Continuous Production can also change how work moves through a manufacturing process. Produced quantities may be recorded directly on work orders, and when continuous production is enabled on the bill of materials, a following operation can begin once part of the required quantity becomes available rather than waiting for the entire previous operation.

• Businesses can decide if procurement generates draft or confirmed manufacturing orders for the Manufacturing operation type.

• The previous Produce and Produce All actions have been consolidated into a single Produce button across Manufacturing, Shop Floor and Barcode.

• Bill-of-material overviews now show free-to-use and on-hand quantities both in the company's warehouses and at subcontractor locations.

• Expiration dates appear on traceability reports, while completed work orders are shown by default in the Work Orders Planning Gantt view.

CRM Connects Leads With Existing Subscriptions

• From a customer's lead, salespeople can access existing subscriptions and create upsell or renewal quotations from those subscriptions. The resulting quotation can automatically remain connected to the corresponding opportunity or lead.

Sales Gives Users More Freedom Around Order Lines and Margins

• Sales commissions can now be calculated according to the amount actually paid.

• Businesses selling prepaid services can invoice additional usage or overages directly from the invoicing wizard.

• Sales order lines no longer have to be connected to a product by default. A line can simply contain a description. Companies that want stricter product control can turn on the Mandatory Product setting instead.

• Margins can be edited directly on sales-order lines, with Odoo recalculating the sales price accordingly.

• Manager commission structures are more flexible as well. Individual contributors' targets and achievements can roll into another salesperson's commission calculation, supporting manager and split-commission models.

• Quotation templates can be selected when creating a sales order, while any quotation or sales order can be saved as a template through a dedicated action.

• The default sales-order email now includes the customer's reference in its subject and body.

• Sections can hold multi-line descriptions, and businesses can manage order fulfilment and send shipping-confirmation emails even without installing Inventory.

Purchase Adds Incoterm and Agreement Improvements

• Vendors can now carry a default Incoterm. Once configured, that Incoterm is automatically used on quotations and purchase orders associated with the vendor.

• Purchase agreements and blanket orders can include sections and notes, bringing their structure closer to standard purchase orders.

• Sections and subsections in purchase orders can also display their total amounts.

Online Payments Expand

• ECPay integration is available for Taiwan.

• Mollie and Stripe now support Apple Pay and Google Pay.

• A Pay on Invoice provider allows customers to confirm an order without paying immediately, while payment provider screens have been simplified.

• Wire-transfer payments can also be automatically confirmed against corresponding bank transactions.

Point of Sale Gets Better Receipts and Printer Control

• Businesses operating several printers from a Point of Sale can connect multiple printers and choose which one should print a particular output.

• Service fees can be added to normal POS transactions and self-orders through presets, with the fee also appearing on invoices.

• Simplified receipts can show order subtotals and taxes without printing individual order lines.

• For self-order transactions, customers can receive their receipt by WhatsApp or SMS.

eCommerce Improves Returns, Search and Product Information

• eCommerce orders can be assigned to a default accounting journal.

• Donation snippets now work within the shopping-cart flow and can support recurring donations through subscriptions.

• Attributes can hold external identifiers required by data feeds or microdata platforms.

• Mondial Relay pickup-point functionality is handled through Sendcloud, where it remains available alongside other pickup services.

• Product search also becomes more precise. If someone searches using an attribute value, like a white shirt, for example, opening the result can bring up the product with that exact attribute already selected.

• Product reference prices appear by default on shop pages and elsewhere. Customers can choose products to return from their own portal.

• Two additional eCommerce filters, On Sale and In Stock, work with automatic ribbon assignment to help shoppers narrow products more quickly.

Documents, Email Marketing and Dashboards Get Smaller but Useful Changes

• Documents can now notify the requester once requested files arrive. A single request can ask for several files rather than only one, and AI can rename uploaded documents.

• Email Marketing makes it easier to add contacts to mailing lists while allowing recipients to manage their subscriptions. Dynamic mailing lists calculate recipients when a campaign is processed, and mailing-design editing now takes place in full-screen mode.

• Dashboards allow global filters to be saved as favourites and one global filter can be set as the default.

Discuss Can Record and Summarise Calls

• Odoo Discuss calls can be recorded, with transcripts and summaries produced from the conversation.

Calendar Synchronisation Gets Faster

• According to Odoo, synchronisation with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook is now substantially faster and more reliable.

Payroll Changes Go Beyond the UAE Localization

• The chatter is now available on pay runs, giving payroll teams a place to keep discussions and actions around a run.

• Odoo blocks changes to employee contract dates where those changes would affect existing payslips. The relevant payslips need to be reverted before contract dates are modified.

• Vehicle changes made for employees can automatically update driver assignments in Fleet.

• Employee types can be restricted to a specific company or branch.

• Payslips have a cleaner Salary Computation tab that focuses on relevant information.

• One salary rule can be connected to several salary structures, and time-entry exports now follow a common standard format.

• Expense products can also be assigned specific salary rules, helping ensure that expenses moving through payroll are calculated under the intended rule.

Planning Adds Travel Time and Better Shift Scheduling

• Planning users can assign priorities to shifts. When Auto Plan is used, higher-priority shifts are considered first.

• With Mapbox integration, travel times can appear in Gantt view, helping planners account for the time needed to move between jobs.

• Unscheduled shifts can be dragged from a side panel into calendar or Gantt views.

• Customer equipment and intervention history can be tracked, and businesses can charge a fixed amount for travel time to a customer's location.

• Service requests can also arrive through a website form instead of requiring customers to book the service themselves.

Recruitment, Front Desk and Fleet Receive Focused Updates

• Recruitment forms can show or hide fields according to the job titles associated with a position, including conditions covering several jobs.

• Recruiters can open a job position and view existing talents considered strong matches.

• Frontdesk can limit check-ins to members and, where needed, restrict admission to selected membership tiers.

• In Fleet, changes to an employee's assigned vehicle made through Payroll automatically update the vehicle's driver information.

Rental and Repairs Stay Simple

• Rental gains a dashboard above the list and Kanban views showing a summary of rental activity with status-based filtering.

• Repair orders can now include related services, allowing service work to sit beside the physical repair process.

Odoo Sign Gets Easier to Track and Reuse

• Signature requests containing more than three signers now expose the full signer list and individual statuses through a dropdown.

• Tags can be viewed and edited on templates, sent-request lists and Kanban views, and within signature-request details.

• Signers can be reordered directly from the document editor.

• A previously sent signature document can be turned into a template or sent to another contact, reducing the need to rebuild documents that follow the same pattern.

• Businesses can publish Facebook and Instagram Stories directly from Odoo, choose the order in which multiple images appear and connect a personal LinkedIn account for posting.

• A first comment can also be scheduled to appear immediately after a post is published.

Spreadsheets Become More Capable

• Odoo Spreadsheet now supports bubble charts.

• Dynamic lists can contain calculated columns, while chart annotations allow explanations or context to sit alongside the visual itself.

• Many2Many fields can now be inserted into PDF reports through Studio's field selector.

• If a user edits an element shared by other PDF reports, Odoo shows a warning so the wider effect is visible.

• The PDF report editor itself has a new interface, while technical names created for Studio fields are more readable.

Time Off and Timesheets Get More Precise

• Time Off can calculate leave deductions according to working days or calendar days.

• The Timesheet Assistant now has sharing controls. Rules may be private, shared with selected users or groups, or made available to everyone.

• A rule can also be marked as a Side Activity. That is meant for brief interruptions such as checking messages without disrupting the main working timeline.

• Thresholds can be set on individual Timesheet Assistant rules so an activity does not appear in suggestions until it has continued for the defined amount of time.

Website Changes Focus on Forms, SEO and Mobile Editing

• Cards can animate when hovered over, and an entire card can be made clickable.

• Any webpage can be designated as the cookie-policy page.

• Users can define the font weights used for light, normal and bold text.

• Website forms gain more controls. File uploads can be restricted by type, text fields can have character limits and email submissions can be limited to approved domains. Inner snippets can be dragged into forms to create sections, images, titles and other content.

• Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager can be configured through one identifier field in Website settings.

• Businesses managing several websites can change the default site simply by reordering their websites.

• Snippets can be previewed in mobile format before publication.

• Odoo also adds structured data to webpage HTML by default, supporting search-engine rich results.

• The website setup wizard can use AI to suggest positioning choices based on the business, such as luxury or environmentally focused positioning. Themes have been expanded and refined, with updated default imagery.

• A WhatsApp widget lets website visitors begin a conversation with the company directly from the site.
